STEM Learning

CTK Nursery School is at the forefront in introducing pre-k students to a hands-on approach to STEM learning.  Our outdoor botany classroom, complete with greenhouse and composter, won the Orange and Rockland STEM Classroom Grant award in 2021.  In 2023, we were awarded the Orange & Rockland Grant Award for our Hydroponic Garden where the children can learn about sustainable gardening and enjoy tasting what's grown.   In addition to our botany segment, children are introduced to our hermit crabs, Miriam & Moses,  our Beta fish, Martin Luther, and our Ant Farm, learning about the importance of caring and providing for creatures  in our care.  Our butterfly development and release is also an annual event where the children get to see up close the process of metamorphosis.    Learning is an adventure and we are excited to inspire that message.
